Surveillance

The term “surveillance” doesn’t typically come with positive connotations. But for us cancer survivors, post-treatment surveillance is a good thing. It means periodic scans to check for potential recurrence of cancer. Also, it’s an opportunity to check on lingering side effects from the treatment process.

I just had my latest CT scan, this past Friday, and was pleased to get the all clear today. I’ll check in with my oncologist next week but I don’t anticipate there will be much to discuss — her time is better spent with her patients (sadly she is overloaded with them) who are going through active treatment.

I realize I’ve stopped actively posting updates to this blog. Frankly I needed a break from thinking about cancer, after so much of my energy was devoted to it for over a year. The last few months of 2025 were deliciously mundane for me, health-wise.

Not sure if I’ll return to a more regular posting schedule. Maybe the overall topic of this blog will shift .. yet again. With the reset of the new year, I find my thoughts drifting back to electronic music, bringing me back to the early 2010s.

A happy new year to you!
